Toprol XL Class Action Settlement

If you purchased Toprol XL, the heart medication, you may be eligible for a class action award.  A settlement has been reached in a case where defendants were alleged to have used patent filings and lawsuits against its competitors to stop them from selling a low-cost generic version of their prescription drug, Toprol XL, violating U.S. Antitrust laws.

This settlement benefits both consumers and third party payors, like insurance companies.  You can find the claim form today in our new Pharmaceutical Products Section of our Eligibility Guide.

The amount of the award will be based on how much you paid for Toprol XL or generic metoprolol succinate and when you paid it, as well as on how much was paid by other Class Members who file valid claims, and when they paid it.

The deadline to file a claim is April 1, 2013.

  1. I have been taking this med since 2000 and I cannot find the form to fill out a claim

  2. I took the brand name (Toprol) for years and now am on Metoprolol (generic). I had open-heart surgery in November 2010. I have no idea how much money I have spent but the brand name is not cheap, and only 30 days of metroprolol is not cheap. How do I go about getting information as to what I need to do. Thank you.

  3. I am taking this drug and have for the past 3-4 years, but I receive it from my pharmacy by mail order.. My insurance pays all but the copays. Do I qualify for this settlement??
