Ombudsman gets a whole lot more money…
On November 14, 2013, Judge Friedman issued an order approving the Ombudsman invoice for September 2013 as part of the $381,420.00 budget previously approved for work the Ombudsman was to perform between September 1, 2013 and February 28, 2014.
Judge Friedman ordered the Ombudsman to be paid $61,507.60 for work performed in September 2013. The Ombudsman apparently performed over $61,500.00 worth of work in September though we haven’t seen the invoice so we don’t know what work was done exactly.
From this money, $19,356.10 will be paid to the Ombudsman and $42,151.50 will be paid to the Deputy Ombudsman. Judge Friedman once again ordered that the Court must pay the Ombudsman within 15 days from today.
Remember, this money does not come out of the administrative costs fund used to pay the settlement administrator but rather comes directly out of the fund set aside for the benefit of class members.
